Pollock- The Flame

Image
The flame was influenced by the light and energy emitting out of the fire at the time.. If you look closely to the image you will notice that he also drew skeletons, in by José Clemente Orozco's mural at Dartmouth College,  The Epic of American Civilization  (1932-34), you may see various scenes of  flames and human sacrifices. Looking at this painting more, I also like how you can see the different brushstrokes used at the time and how it has great composition.

Jackson Pollock - Blue Poles

Image
This is a painting called Blue Poles, and was painted by Jackson Pollock. I chose this painting because I like how all of the colors seem to be splattered randomly, yet they look like they complement each other smoothly. I also like the noticeable blue poles that strike through the painting. It's possible the painting was never supposed to have them, but Jackson thought the painting needed something else.
