Diane Arbus

I never heard of or viewed the work of Diane Arbus until recently. After looking through her work for the first time, I do like what I've seen. To me, her photography looks as if she caught these people in the middle of what they were doing, almost candidly, with just enough time to pose. I specifically like this photograph named Lady at a Masqued Ball. I like this photo because there is a certain mystery behind it. I can tell the woman is an older woman, maybe 40s or 50s, but I don't know anything about her. I do know that she is smiling and most likely having a good time, but after doing research I read that Diane Arbus would photograph people who displayed loneliness or boredom. She may have not look very happy when Diane Arbus decided to take the picture.
