Dora Maar Au Chat - Picasso

The painting of Pablo Picasso's that stood out to me the most was Dora Maar Au Chat. Picasso painted this piece in 1941 and it was of his mistress at the time, Dora Maar. She is depicted sitting on a chair with a black cat sat next to her on the back of the chair. I like this painting because it is not something you picture when you hear of a portrait painting. The colors and patterns he used are very out of the ordinary which makes the painting unique. This piece is also one of the most expensive paintings ever purchased in an art auction.
