Frida Kahlo, The Wounded Deer
This was painted in 1946 by Frida Kahlo. The star of the painting is the deer with the face of Frida wounded in the middle. The deer represents Frida and the injury she suffered early in her life. She may of felt like her entire life she was a wounded animal with people always having to care for her. An interesting part of this painting is that the Frida has two sets of ears, human and deer, and I am curious if this was thought out and the meaning behind it.
