Abstract Expressionism

I wasn't sure of the new theme for this week's blog so I blogged about the next subject which may be Abstract Expressionism. This piece is called "The Deep" by Jackson Pollock, an oil on canvas painting with only white, black, and touches of yellow. White was supposed to be the symbol of purity and black would represent death. The colors were to blend into gray to deepen the picture and thoughts of the viewer. I really like the simplicity of the painting and how it holds deep meanings.
