Dog Lying in the Snow Franz Marc
Franz Marc was a German painter who was part of the German Expressionist movement. He preferred to paint animals because he felt closer to nature and to God. His painting, Dog Lying in the Snow, was finished in 1911. This was a painting of Marc's own Siberian Shepherd dog, Russi. This artwork is different from Franz Marc's other works because it isn't as colorful or abstract. You can easily tell in this painting that it is a dog lying in the snow surrounded by trees compared to his other paintings that are more abstract. This is one of Marc's most popular paintings and I really enjoyed it too.
