Title: "The Yellow Cow"

I choose the painting "The Yellow Cow" created by Franz Marc because it was a good use of colors and was very unique from the other artists we have studied. This painting in particular is one of Marc most well known piece and is a good example of illustrating animals in Expressionist style. An Expressionist style can be defined as distorting natural images. Vincent Van Gogh early art paintings are examples of Expressionism as well. I really enjoyed the use of color in this painting and unusually colors. For example, cows are always painted as black and white since that is what they are represented as in reality. However, Marc used a bright yellow color for the cow along with a bright blue on the cows stomach. Furthermore, I really like how Marc used a different bright and vivid colors in his paintings. Therefore, I choose this painting because my eyes were drawn to the bright yellow on the cow.
