Un Chien Andalou

Tuna Fishing (1967) by Salvador Dali

Un Chien Andalou was an interesting and bizarre film. There was a lot of symbolism, such as with the ants in the palm, the woman's armpit hair becoming the man's mouth, and the dead donkeys on the piano. There are so many ways to interpret the film. One could say that with the man's lustful ways, he is going against the church. When he is dragging the pianos with dead donkeys, the piano, and the priests. These are popular images within the church. The donkey plays a large role in biblical times, and music is a large part of the church. The woman settles for another man on the beach. The box and what the man was wearing comes up again.
